Experimenting Pumpkin

In the oven baking.
Just took out of the oven.

Ready to eat with a little topping!

What it looked like before baking.

We went to pumpkin patch yesterday and a tent we went to had two people pretending to be 200 yrs. old they was telling us different lifestyles of back then. Anyway they was telling us how they use to bake pumpkin custard in a pumpkin shell over a open fire in a cast iron dutch oven. well so I tried it today in my oven in a cookie sheet.I was kind of scared it would exploed in my oven. Well I kept close eye on it. My house smelt wonderful. It had to bake for about 2 1/2 hrs. It was very tastey!! I have decided I will be making this at Thanksgiving let it be a centerpiece. After dinner lift the lid off pumpkin and there will be dessert.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

Sat. went up to Aurther and Arcola. We had a blast! We visited the amish stores and then to the pumpkin patch. We all had a blast and enjoyed the nice weather. The maze was a little muddy but we still had fun. After the patch visit we went to Yoders Kitchen. YUMMY!!! ( amish peanutbutter and fried chicken). Thanks Lisa, Maddy and Bob for asking us to go. We had a fun day hanging out!!

First Day of School

Our first day of school went wonderful!! Jake and Josie sure did surprise me. I did have to dress Jake while sleeping.Tahsa and Josie had a race to see who was dressed first. They brushed their teeth without being told. Jake said" mom, I'm glad I got this haircut now I dont have to brush my hair."How funny! In the past we have always had issues with Jake going to school. He would cry, say "mom you will be there at 3:00 to get me" this would be everyday. How sad is that. It really broke my heart. I guess it may have a little to do with me being home with my children everyday. Being a stay at home mother/daycare provider had been such a wonderful experience for me. I feel like I missed out on alot of Dusty and Tasha since I had to work outside the home. Well my baby(Josie) is in Kindergarden, Jacob in First, Tasha is a sophmore, and Dusty is off to college on Sunday. I was ok not tearing up this morning sending Josie but sending Dusty on Sunday to college. That may be different. I have had a few crying spells over him leaving.

Road Trip

On Saturday took Mom, Dad, Kaiden, Tahsa, Jake and Joise out for a roadtrip. I was headed to Moonshine but wasnt real sure how to get there. I told the kids if we got lost we could eat at pizza hut in Casey. It is a real good place to eat. We did not get lost I found it no problem. Ate lunch at Moonshine Little Jake had a double bacon cheeseburger he ate the whole thing. It was bigger than a big mac. WOW!! I had one to. YUMMY! Then off to Flatrock to Amish land we went to Villas Country store. Picked up cheese, and meat. My favorite cheese is the green onion and hot pepper. Tasha really likes bacon cheddar cheese. It was a pretty day out to take a roadtrip. We all had a wonderful day!!
